Movie Worth Watching: Slumdog Millionaire

It's also the last day of my fantastic J-term class. I have learned quite a bit and really enjoyed getting to know my classmates. Hopefully I can find ways of implementing and integrating the learning from this class into real-life ministry in a few months.

And today's Creative Everyday Challenge project: it's just another little collage. I'm hoping to get some paints this weekend.

I got up in the middle of the night last night and couldn't sleep for awhile. I hardly remember it, but I know I was up for awhile. And I guess I did a little journaling. Here are some notes I wrote to myself in a sleepy stupor at 3:30am that I don't really remember writing:
-journey your own course
-follow your own path
-you are here NOW! overcome, breathe, choose.
-learn this lesson and move past it. it will keep on resurfacing until you learn the lesson.
-salvation equals freedom from all this. believe it.

Then I woke up this morning and read a prayer from "The Language of Letting Go" for today: Today, God, help me not judge or limit my future by my past. Help me be open to all the exciting possibilities for change, both within and around me.

Lately, it sure seems that God and the universe and everything else are all pointing to the same thing: Be open to change.

I'll just keep working on that.

  1. The Year of Living Biblically is a great book!

    Some suggestions in return:

Book: Rapture Ready! by Daniel Radosh. I'm only halfway through, but it's been an interesting read about evangelical Christian consumerism & pop culture.

TV Show: Battlestar Galactica. Okay, yes, it has spaceships & scary robots, but it's not *too* nerdy, I promise! A great show about rebuilding civilization & having your faith challenged.

    Happy weekend!
