Oh, hello!

Hello there!

I'm broadcasting live from Saint Marys hospital this morning.

Pinch me, I must be dreaming.

So, I think it's safe to say this is the worst vacation week I've ever had. Extra bummer: I dropped and cracked my phone on the way from Methodist to Saint Marys last night.

On the plus side, I feel perfectly fine. And really, that's a major plus.

On the downside, I still have a pretty serious platelet problem.

I had to be admitted because when I am at a count of 1, all of the physicians seem to get extremely concerned and reasonably so. I am a major bleeding risk. So I got a unit of platelets last night, and I'm here under "observation" until my counts come up. They do regular neurological checks to make sure my brain is not bleeing. They check my red dots. Encouragingly, the doctor last night said, 'Wow. Your body is really holding up well considering you're at a count of 1.' I took that to be a major compliment. Way to go, body!

If my counts go up above 10,000 by 4pm, I can go home. If they are not above 10,000, then I have to get another dose of IVIG.

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday and Sunday I'm preaching in Wabasha. No time for this nonsense.
