before bed...

New feature!  I hope you'll join in.
Let's do more with the "comments" feature on the blog.
Want to?  Then it will be more like a conversation and we can learn from each other.
If it ends up being really tricky to use the "comments" feature, please let me know.

So today's bloggy exploration = "before bed."
Here's the thought...
I'll share what I've been reading/up to in those precious moments before sleepy-sleep.
And then you can share what you've been up to. Do you have a tv series you've been watching?  A project you're working on?  A book you're writing/reading?

This is our Zion Book Group book for the month. 84, Charing Cross Road.  It's a collection of real-life letters that span several decades.  I started it last night, and it's captivating and laugh-out-loud funny.  The letters start about 1949. They reveal the correspondence between a woman from the United States and a rare books dealer in England.  The woman, Helen, is so hilarious and witty.  I'm only 30 pages in so far, but I really feel inspired to write more letters.

My copy of this gem is nearly 4 years old! I got it in Chicago right before I moved to Minnesota.  The author of "Wreck this Journal" is Keri Smith. Each page is a different prompt. It's such a fun book and a great pre-bedtime activity.  Last night, I completed the following page.  The prompt was: "Write one word over and over."

My word of choice: "HOPE"

You don't need the book in order to do this activity.  I highly recommend it.
If you follow-through, let me know what word you choose.

I've also been listening to this song on repeat....
"Paper Doll" by John Mayer.  The video is silly.
The song is great.

  1. I was finally able to start a book again while on a short vacation up at our family's cabin called "The Time of My Life" by Cecelia Ahern. It's an easy light right about a woman who can't let go of certain things until her Life comes along and allows her to see how to live again.

  2. That video is so funny! I am reading Geraldine Brooks's 'Year of Wonders' about the Plague in England in 1666. It is a captivating piece of historical fiction. I always read before my eyes fall shut, so this is likely all you'll hear about from me. Sweet dreams, Carol
