Music Monday

Music Monday

On Mondays I like to recommend various bands and artists.
Lately, most of my recent listening time has been spent on delving into music of the 1960s and 70s as I listen to my records and record player. I can't wait to expand my record collection! Truly, I love the sound of a record. CDs and digital music is great, too! But for now, I'm in love with records. Do you like records? If so, what is your very favorite?

As far as current music recommendations, I HIGHLY recommend Noah and the Whale.

I subscribe to NPR's Tiny Desk Concert podcast, and that's where I first heard of Noah and the Whale. Now I'm a big fan. Two songs I like:

Blue Skies

2 Atoms in a Molecule

Another good band: Halloween, Alaska

Dance by Accident

Golf Tourney Hat

Yesterday afternoon and evening was the annual church golf tournament. It was so, so, so fun. A beautiful sunny day and a fantastic time of fellowship. The three other folks on my team were super good golfers, so we ended up winning. And I got a hat! I've always wanted a cute baseball cap! I'm already trying to think of ways to weave it into a sermon...

  1. I got to know and love Queen by listening to Dad's "Night at the Opera" record in junior high. I have the cd now, but it's just not the same without the skips in all the right places. Also, Mom had an extensive Barry Manilow collection, so I think he never sounds finer than when he's on vinyl.
    Happy Monday!
