Chicago, I still miss you.

Chicago

Good morning! Happy Thursday. :)
I love Minnesota very much; truly. It's growing on me at a rapid pace.
And really, it feels like home. I haven't been back to Iowa in about 10 months (I think?!?)

I only spent a few years in Chicago, but they were very formative years. And from time-to-time (each day), I miss that city very much.

Specific things I remember about Chicago and miss today:
-Walking the city streets while listening to my Ipod.
(It always made me feel like I was in a movie).
-Walking to the Point and watching the waves crash into the shore
-Crab rangoon from Noodles Etc.
-Daily being surrounded by beautiful, wonderful non-white, non-straight people
-The Hyde Park neighborhood - especially how so many people could simultaneously walk and read a book at the same time

Okay, I guess it should be Minnesota's turn, too, right?
Things I love about small town Minnesota:
-Feeling like I know a good percentage of the people in the grocery store everytime I visit
-Waving to people while walking and waving while driving
-Lefse
-Daily witnessing the power of community
-Garage sales
-Daily being surrounded by beautiful, wonderful people

Your turn - what do you LOVE about the place where you are today?
