"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us." - Joseph Campbell
It's a new week. Are you ready for it?
I'm feeling hopeful and happy this morning, and also a little unsettled.
But that's probably because I'm waiting for a platelet-related phone call with this morning's blood test results.
I sure am looking forward to eventually getting to once a week blood tests,
and then every other week, and then once a month, and then a few times a year.
Someday, someday.
In the meantime, I better just stay positive.
Also, I'm feeling highly compelled to work on just BEING PRESENT in the moment.
And value each moment for whatever it is - for whatever it contains.
Yesterday I was speaking with a friend who is going through a tough time.
I said, "I wish there was a way to fast forward through all this hurt you're going through."
The person said, "And I wish I could hit rewind and do it all over again - differently."
Isn't it the case that we often spend much of our lives looking ahead and looking back? And often it is our hearts that end up paying the price - filled with yearning on one hand and regret on the other.
The truth is - we can't fast forward and we can't rewind.
We can only be right where we are.
Let's embrace it - the moment - the here and the now -
Let's be present in the present.
