Home sweet home.

Today's photo: "Corney Pastor" (taken by my lovely mother who helped me get settled in yesterday!)

This morning was my first Sunday as Pastor (name tag and all). Wowzers! :) I have been a little teary-eyed all day thinking about the mysterious and surprising ways God is always at work. As I stepped through the two sets of double doors this morning and made my way into the church, I was overwhelmed by about 20 or 30 million different feelings. Excitement, a little bit of anxiety, thankfulness, gratitude, fear, elation (just to name a few). It was a beautiful morning. I was able to meet several hundred new faith friends today - authentic, curious people to journey with along the trails of life. What an honor to learn and love and explore with them! I am truly IN AWE today. It's real! I'm here! It's happening!

Every week 90 minutes before the regular service, a small group meets for prayer. I was pondering how this is all a major BNL (brand new life) for me. And the fellow leading the prayer group said, "I have a passage from Paul in mind for today." He read from 2nd Corinthians, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" How about that!? How perfect for today!

Regardless of our various belief systems, isn't so fantastic that every single day we are constantly being renewed? Every single morning we wake up a little wiser, stronger, and more experienced - every day - we are a new creation. And for that, I am thankful beyond expression.
