MEII: Week 3

Welcome to Week 3 of our Mission to End Intercultural Incompetence. This week's country is: Uganda. Here's Uganda on a world map and on a map of Africa:

And here are a few quick Uganda facts:
-population: 27,000,000
-capital: Kampala
-government: Republic
-major civil unrest for decades
-life expectancy: 44 years
-Uganda's Modern Art Movement
-Gavin DeGraw's Blog about Visit to Uganda
-Great 'All Things Considered' story about a group of high school kids who make a film in Kampala, Uganda for their final project

As I am reading about Uganda in preparation for this post, I am realizing that this is a place that I should REALLY know more about it. Wow. So much sadness, poverty, and turmoil: but it is amazing how people persevere in the most difficult of circumstances. Do you have any Ugandan facts/experiences to share?

Thanks, friends. I'm so happy and thankful to have you with me for this journey.

  1. What a lovely idea. I think people (including myself) know so little about Africa...the different countries and cultures.
