Southeastern Minnesota: Here I Come!

Hello friends! Happy Thursday. I hope you are all having a fabulous day. The weather was pretty fantastic across a lot of the midwest, so if you happen to be in that region, I hope you found a least a moment or two to soak in the warmth and sunshine.

I got a fun phone call today from Bishop Harold Usgaard of the ELCA's (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) Southwestern Minnesota Synod. I found out this afternoon that that is where I will be heading in a few short months for my first call as Pastor Emily! I'm very excited. Bishop Usgaard said that I will be hearing from congregations ready to interview in the next few weeks. And then I'll take a trip to Rochester, MN in a few weeks to meet the synod staff and learn about that area. Lots of adventure ahead! And I still have a few months left of seminary classes. Thanks to everyone for a lot of support and encouragement through this process.

Today I spent some time outside taking pictures for my Creative Everyday project. Here are a few:

  1. Yeah Emily! I'm so excited for you... this coming from someone who, according to my license plate, is still a Minnesotan. I really do think it is a beautiful place to be!

And... as a potential, future Minnesotan, I am excited about the possibility of your nearness to me. Selfish, I know, but very true.

Hope you are well, and can't wait to hear more! Love.
