One step closer....

Weekend Chronicles

Yesterday evening I hung out with a few friends at the St. John's Block Party in Rochester, Minnesota. It was very fun! I sure love live music. We watched Jared Lee, Jeremy Messersmith, and Mates of State (the lead guy is from STEWARTVILLE). The big act was Eric Hutchinson, but he didn't start until 10pm. And pastors have to get to bed early or they turn into pumpkins on Sundays!

Awesome

Here we are with Jared Lee and his band.
They were all quite dreamy.

Jared said, "So, what do you do?"
I said, "Oh, well, I'm a pastor."
His facial response seemed to be the usual combination of shock and interest.
He turned to his bandmates and interrupted their conversations.

"Guys, whoa. This girl is a pastor! Really!"

Then we went back to chit-chatting. Anna and Steph were busy chatting with the friendly bandmates. Jared said, "I've never met a pastor before." So then I held out my hand and we shook hands. I smiled and said, "Well, now you have."

It was fun to talk. He's kind and a good musician. I noticed he has two singles available on Itunes if you'd like to check them out. Also, guess what? When I asked him about his musical influences, he said TWO of them are Boyz II Men and John Mayer.

Nice choices, Jared.

All my favorite slow jams from middle school are by Boyz II Men.
And as you all know, my primary relational goal in life is to marry John Mayer.
I think I'm one step closer, don't you?

I hope you've had a great weekend!

  1. Ooh! I didn't know JMessersmith was there! Did you enjoy his set? He's a pretty awesome singer-songwriter and a really really nice guy to boot. I got to chat with him for a bit at his show here in Chicago and it was the best night of my year so far! :D
