A Quick FYI

Hi there,

16,000 platelets today.
Bummer.
IF I were going to a super cool Halloween party tonight (which I am not), I'd dress up like a platelet. That would be funny.

BUT, I feel good. So that's positive.
The doctor is not making me take any additional Prednisone (THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU). I'm supposed to stick to 20 mg a day over the weekend. If the count is still the same on Monday, I will have an IVIG treatment. Remember IVIG? It always works - but only for 2-3 weeks at a time. It costs a lot, but what's another $5,000 once you're at $50,000? :) Disturbing. I'm praying that insurance will cover more than 80%.

I will still have Round #3 of Rituxan tomorrow morning at 7am. HOPEFULLY the Rituxan will start working any minute now! I REALLY HOPE SO. In the meantime, over the weekend, if I have any additional symptoms, I am supposed to go to the ER and get a platelet transfuion.

Truly, I do feel good.
And the sermon is written.
And I have clean sheets.
And my mom is driving up from Iowa to be with me over the weekend to keep an eye on me and be with me during round #3. It's so helpful.
I'm making squash tonight for supper and fresh pesto over pasta.

YUM!

Have a great Friday.
