Rating: R
Right up front, I'll just say it: this movie is quite crude and inappropriate for audiences under 18. Okay, now that we have that out of the way, I'll proceed.
I had no idea what to expect with this movie. I had heard it wasn't necessarily "funny" in the same way many of Adam Sandler's movies are funny. That intrigued me since I don't like most of Sandler's movies. In this particular film, Sandler's character "George Simmons" is diagnosed with a form of leukemia. He's told that he probably has very minimal time to live. The movie tells the story of the days and weeks after his diagnosis.
I laughed REALLY hard during this movie. I also cringed (the language and content is extreme). I also wept.
All in all, I found the experience of watching this movie to be a positive one. 99% of the really dirty parts could be cut out and it would be an even better movie, but that's probably the "pastor" part of me talking.
In the end, I think it's about: life, laughter, friendship, death and love. And those are definitely my kind of themes. If you've watched it, I'd love to hear what you thought.
Final Rating: 6.5 of 10 stars
