Grace and love and all that stuff.

Greetings all. I've been working on a new template/background for the blog. I wanted to come up with a scheme that incorporated my own photography in the background rather than someone else's. I don't quite have it all figured out yet and HTML coding is a little trickier than I remembered. But it's coming along. Thanks for your patience.

All is well in Iowa. I became a full-fledged brunette today at a salon in Waterloo. So far, I am embracing it; I haven't had hair that matches my root color for quite some time! :) Alas, to have eyebrows and hair color that matches! I'm not sure how long I'll last without some blond, but I'm going to give it a whirl. Highlights are just too expensive to keep up on (as was this color job) so hopefully it will last awhile.

Church was unique today. The pastor preached a lot about original sin which is a doctrine I really struggle with. I'm still pondering all this, so I won't make any bold statements. All I will say is that there's got to be a balance between a church environment's emphasis on condemnation/sin and it's proclamation of grace. And today, I walked out of church wishing I'd heard a lot more about grace and forgiveness and new life and wholeness and less about generations of sin passed on to me.

A photo to share for today. Some old leaves in the front yard.

I hope that whatever you are up to today, you are all feeling really loved and appreciated and valued; you are a treasure.
