Something you should listen to.

It's a sunny Monday in Chicago; and also quite chilly.

This morning while working at the library, I listened to episode #374 (Somewhere Out There) of This American Life, and I am proclaiming it as required listening for everyone. All the stories are nice, but the second story if particularly moving. It is about two 8-year-olds. Seriously, I know I recommend a lot of random books and movies and podcasts. But really, I want you to listen to this. It will expand your horizons and remind you how important it is that we teach all people and generations to be loving, accepting, generous, and kind.

Here is my Creative Everyday Project for today. It's a little gift for a friend. I'm really into incorporating dictionary definitions into projects and cards for people. Here's the definition of 'friendship' in this particular dictionary: "One attached to another by esteem, respect, and affection." Precious. I don't use the word 'esteem' nearly enough.

So let's get out there and do some esteeming people! :) And yes, I just checked. It can be used as a verb.

  1. I loved that story, too!

And I love the word "esteem." Very Jane Austen.
