Book: Tell the Wolves I'm Home
Author: Carol Rifka Brunt
June is the 14-year-old narrator of the book.
And I just love her. She's wise beyond her years...far, far beyond her years.
The year: 1986. Her beloved uncle dies of AIDS - and in the months that follow, she learns a lot about love, loss, and the bond of siblings.
I give it 8/10 stars. * * * * * * * *
Tonight I joined a new book group, and we discussed this one.
Let me tell you - I LOVE BOOK GROUPS.
During my internship year of seminary, I started a book group called "Redeemer's Readers" and I've loved book groups ever since.
I love book world (that place you enter into when you're deeply engrossed in a novel).
And I love talking about books.
Joining this group reminded me of how much joy reading brings me.
I'm thankful for the incentive to make reading a top priority area.
Good for the brain.
Good for the soul.
Good for the soul.
Reading anything good lately?
