Exploring Minnesota

First off, a link for you. We're in the midst of VRT (volunteer recruitment time) at Zion as we prepare for a new year of Sunday School, Club 56, and Confirmation. Volunteer recruitment strategies were the topic of choice for my Post-Bulletin column this week. Check it out.

Anna shared this hilarious link with me the other day. The Manatees share calming thoughts.
It's called "Calming Manatee" - click it. You'll see something like this....

(You can also "Summon another calming message" to see another cute manatee)

And now some "Exploring Minnesota" suggestions!

Have you ever been to Nerstrand Big-Woods State Park? Check it out.
But warning: MOSQUITOS! Bug spray helped. The wooded area was very buggy. The more open area was probably less buggy.

Also: awesome church alert. Holden Lutheran Church in Kenyon, Minnesota. One of the first pastors of the congregation, B. J. Muus was also the founder of St. Olaf college and one of the founders of Luther College. It was really neat to explore the church and grounds!
