Music Monday and Flourish

Music Monday

Hello friends!
Sorry for the delay in getting this week's soundtrack posted.

I've been getting things in order for my BNL.

Yes - it's time for another Brand New Life.
The goal: flourish.

It isn't just about healthier eating or exercise.
It isn't just about adding some yoga or prayer time.

Instead: it's an all-encompassing approach to living.

It's about building in a life in which I can really flourish.
If I can build a truly healthy life, then I will be better able to empower other people to flourish!

Sometimes I allow myself to get so stressed, worried, and overwhelmed.
It's easy to work too much, soak in the negativity of others, and then feel stuck and sad.

I love so many parts of my life -
but for some reason, I get out of balance.
I think this happens to a lot of people.
There are so many good things in our life garden,
but if we don't take care of the soil, it all falls apart.
And that's not an environment that's very good for flourishing!

It's like yesterday's gospel text about the seeds.
I want to surround myself with good soil - at work, at home, in relationships, in free-time.

I want to flourish and grow, not shrivel up.

Isn't this what we all want?

Also, I really want to get this blood disease cured.
I'm thankful for this crazy bone-marrow stimulating medicine, but I don't want to be reliant on it forever.  If I can work on my life's soil quality - maybe there will be benefits for my blood.  I'm not sure, but why not try, right?

A lot of things are going great - so this new plan incorporates all of these....

-I'm still really enjoying my budgeting plan.  That's coming along very well.

My "Flourish" life plan has four parts:

EAT - SLEEP - MOVE - PAUSE

-Eat (an intentional focus on whole foods)
-Sleep (more sleep)
-Move (exercise and take regular adventures!)
-Pause (slow down, pray, reflect, budget)

Feel free to join me!  I hope you will!
Let's flourish people.

FLOURISH!

And I am going to try to remind myself every day that it isn't "all or nothing" - all I can do is my best.  So that is just what I'll do.  And then let go.

As my wise friend, Karen, recently said: celebrate the successes and let go of the rest.
Amen, sister.  Amen.

And here are some Music Monday recommendations:
These are all old school songs that I recently added to my "Pump it Up Morning Mix" on Spotify:

Fantasy by Mariah Carey

Celebration by Kool and the Gang

Another Night by Real McCoy

Faith by George Michael
