A Life of Faith

A Life of Faith

This morning at church, we read Psalm 25. Here are a few verses that I'm still pondering. It really makes for a beautiful prayer.

Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long.
Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for your goodness’ sake, O Lord!

Psalm 25:4-7

And a few quotes related to "truth," a concept I have been interested in lately.

Tolerance means that you don't approve, but you put up with it. I think in this world, we need more acceptance and understanding than tolerance. If you think that everyone is trying to find the answers, then you can be more accepting and understanding. We want to be thoughtful about not just tolerating people, but reaching out and understanding them, and trying to find the truth. - Rev. Judith Quarles quote

I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

When in doubt tell the truth.
- Mark Twain
