Welcome to this week's round of "Word of the Week"!
Thank you for joining us!
If by chance you ever contribute a photo, and you don't notice it posted,
please send me a quick email. It just means that when I was loading the pics on flickr, an error came up that I missed. Please let me know. I never want to leave anyone out.
It's so fun to see each and every photo!
Enjoy the books!

In light of today's word (book),
I have a group participation question.
What is the best book you have read in recent months/years?
The Hunger Games trilogy! It's amazing and insanely addictive! It's a great "remedy" to reading the crappy (but beloved) Twilight series because THG has a strong female lead and really grown-up situations that she has to deal with. And it's going to be a movie in March! I'm so excited!
ReplyDeleteThe Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls was the last book I read that I couldn't put down.
ReplyDeleteFiction: Deborah Harkness, A Discovery of Witches
ReplyDeleteReally fun nonfiction: Bill Bryson, At Home
More "serious" but still fascinating nonfiction: Bethany Moreton, To Serve God and Walmart, and Daniel Williams, God's Own Party
The comment above is about the fourth mention I've seen of The Hunger Games in the last 24 hours... it's becoming apparent I need to track these down!
In 2011 the most interesting books I read were Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen my new all time favorite Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I'm currently finishing The Forger's Spell by Edward Dolnick. It's hard to put down too. Thanks for the great blog!
ReplyDeleteHalf a Life by Darin Strauss and any short stories by Ron Rash (Chemistry, Burning Bright...)
ReplyDeleteI agree with The Hunger Games series!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments, folks!
ReplyDeleteSo fun to read what you are reading! I need to check those all out.
