Look! This feature has a new title.
No more "Cookin' It Old School" - now it's "Cookin' It Up."
I am generally short on time and big on ideas, so instead of focusing specifically on vintage recipes, I'm going to focus on sharing about foods and recipes I actually like.
I love green veggies, so that's what I'll be sharing about today.
In the upper Midwest, we are experiencing the freshest, most wonderful greens right now! I love to go to the local farmer's market and load up on bok choy, spinach, lettuce, swiss chard, kale, and mustard greens. Many of these foods have been acquired tastes for me, so if you don't love green veggies at this very moment, I'd suggest giving them a chance little by little. My favorite way to eat them is to chop them thinly. Then fry them up with garlic and olive oil. And then I like to add a little of some kind of sauce - soy sauce or a teriyaki sauce or any of Trader Joe's many sauces and marinades.

What is your favorite way to prepare greens?
Here are two of my very favorites!

ReplyDeleteHannah; great recipes! Thank you! :) Kale is my favorite green.
ReplyDeleteAmanda - hope you are well; thanks for the comment today!
My favorite green thing right now is spinach! For dinner most nights this week I'm making spinach "salad" (okay, it's just spinach leaves) with goat cheese and craisins and balsamic vinaigrette. It is sooooo easy and so delicious and not-hot and perfect summer eats!
ReplyDeleteTest test test.
