In life, there such are all kinds of folks, huh?
People with all kinds of hopes and dreams,
with all kinds of stories and personalities,
with all kinds of beliefs and preferences.
And even though we don't always agree, we all have to share planet Earth. We all have to co-exist. At least, the world seems to run more smoothly when all people can peacefully co-exist.
I'm learning more and more each day that how we treat other people says a lot about our OWN emotional health. And it isn't just about how we treat one another when we are face-to-face....it's also about how we treat one another with our words and our actions.
I found a great quote yesterday that I wanted to share with you all:
remember it is a holy encounter.
As you see him you will see yourself.
As you treat him you will treat yourself.
As you think of him you will think of yourself.
Never forget this, for in him you will find yourself or lose yourself.
-from "A Course in Miracles"
Isn't that great?
So true.
Every encounter - whether you "like" the person or not, is an opportunity for a holy encounter.
Beautiful stuff.
Hey Emily,
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your reflection today. Also what a beautiful photograph.

ReplyDeleteOkay, so I tried to comment with a link to a song but it didn't work! So I will just recommend that you go to YouTube and find Carrie Newcomer's video for her song "Holy as the Day is Spent" and enjoy it. It's a wonderful calming song about the holiness in the everyday. :)
