I am so in love with the Gospel lesson for this week's church service. My sermon is based on Matthew 5:14-16.
‘You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven."
I love it, love it, love it! Such beautiful imagery.
We were not created to be covered up with baskets and lids and covers and blankets.
We were created to SHINE.
Seriously, every time I get totally annoyed with the Bible (it happened to me this morning while leading Bible study - and it happens to me at some moment of almost every day), I end up having an experience that causes me to get all mushy and oggly-eyed over that holy book! Bible - will you be my Valentine?
You are so cute...
