The congregation I serve has a number of elderly members spread throughout southeastern Minnesota. They are mainly living in nursing homes and care centers. Today I went to visit V. She is a delight and told me lots of farm stories from her childhood.
"I used to milk cows by hand, you know," she said 3 or 4 times with a big, glorious smile.
"That's amazing!" I exclaimed. "Farming has changed a lot in 85 years, hasn't it?"
"Yes, it really has," V said, nodding.
On the way back I stopped to take a few photos.
