Today I used my first "Continuing Education" day of the year!
A dear friend provided me with an extra ticket to a conference on worship up in Minneapolis! It was a terrific event with the title: "The Art of Curating Worship." Here's a summary of the experience that I found online:
The Art of Curating Worship is an interactive day-long event that will focus on exploring, deepening, and re-imagining worship. Participants will hear from three of the most innovative and influential leaders in Christian worship today, and will have the opportunity to network with visual artists, poets, musicians, preachers, and others throughout the day’s sessions.
It was a very inspiring conference to attend! I sure hope I can remember and then apply all the new ideas that entered my brain today!
Another bonus: I got to connect with a college friend who I haven't seen in years! YIPPEE! And we live pretty close together, so I think she can be my real-life friend in addition to being an online friend!

And another bonus: I got to sit with 3 super fun people from a congregation in Rochester. Delightful!
One more bonus: Tonight I went over to a friend's and we watched "Dear John" together and cried our little eyes out. Last time we got together, we watched "My Sister's Keeper." We have a real affinity for tear-jerkers. "Dear John" is pretty cheese-ball, but I don't mind those once in awhile - especially when viewed with a great gal pal.
Sorry - seriously - just one more bonus of the day: I got 10 quality minutes of garden time today! I was a little disappointed to see that part of my beets must have accidentally gotten sprayed with some kind of weed killer because they suddenly died. Thankfully nothing else was contaminated. I've been eating lettuce for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks! Yesterday I invested in 3 new salad dressings so I can spruce up my salad-eating life.

Okay - YOUR TURN! What has been one "BONUS" of your week so far? Seriously, you better post a comment! We haven't had a participatory post for ages. Let us all in on one highlight of the last few days!
The situation: Dad had a conference in Indy over the last 4 days.
ReplyDeleteBonus: Mom came with him and spent some time with us!
Bonus II: Cade got to swim in their hotel swimming pool.
Bonus III, etc: frozen custard, treated to dinner twice, and Dad mowed our lawn!
Bonus: I discovered that the roast beef panini at the Main Street Cafe is just delicious without the roast beef!
ReplyDeleteBonus: Zoe and I enjoyed shade, sun, and her new water table in our big backyard.
Bonus: Zoe let me sleep till 6:30 this morning!
Bonus: my surprisingly fun and sweet beach picnic date last night! We stargazed and shivered because it was actually a bit chilly!
ReplyDeleteLADIES! Great bonuses! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBonus: potty training might actually be moving forward, easing my worries that my children will attend college in diapers.
ReplyDeleteAnd a bonus Bonus: the INCREDIBLE weather we've had this week. Lots of time in the sunshine and meals al fresco on the deck. Love it!
I got to go to a great conference with a great friend as well this week!!!
