Greetings and salutations.
I posted a new song over on the left of this blog in the music player. Its name is "Run to You" (sorry about the less-than-ideal sound quality; you'll need to crank your volume I think).
I got together with a friend this week for coffee, and we started randomly reflecting on the awfulness that is "breakups." Just about everyone has experienced one at some point - some breakups being much more heart-wrenching than others. This song is specifically inspired by that terrible feeling of knowing that a relationship is no longer good or healthy but wanting it to last anyway.
"Run to You"
Where did you go?
I seem to have lost you along the way.
Did you run up ahead?
Why couldn't you stay?
Was it pretend?
Was it a game that you like to play?
Stealing innocent hearts,
the evidence packed away?
I want to run to you,
I want to run to you,
I want to run to you forever.
I want to hold on to,
I want to hold on to,
I want to hold on to you and never let go,
let go.
Call me a fool,
for feeling the way that I feel right now.
It doesn't matter to me,
just return to this place somehow.
You took a girl,
and made her a version of me that I'm not.
The price to pay is mine,
it's my token and lot.
I want to run to you,
I want to run to you,
I want to run to you forever.
I want to hold on to,
I want to hold on to,
I want to hold on to you and never let go,
let go.
I want to run to you,
I want to run to you,
I want to run to you forever.
I want to hold on to,
I want to hold on to,
I want to hold on to you and never let go,
let go.
