"Be still, and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10
"but honestly will someone stop this train" - John Mayer
September 14th? Are you kidding me? When did you get here? Sorry for my lack of hospitality, month of September! But seriously, please bring back your neighbor August.
Time is so speedy. I wish I could catch time and hold it in my arms for while, begging it to slow down. I've decided to put a picture of a clock on my desk. It's a photo I took at the seminary library of the clock I always looked at as I counted down the minutes until I'd be off. Now I'm longing for those minutes to return. I want them back. But, apparently, that's just not how the world works. We don't get minutes back. We only get to go forward. We only get new minutes, not old ones.
The wise Mr. John Mayer wrote a song and titled it: "Stop this Train." It's about how quickly life moves. He concluded: "Once in awhile, when it's good, It'll feel like it should."
I hope you find some moments this week when it's good. And when it all feels just like it should.
