Mentors

It is an always-present journey,

embarking upon the seas of knowledge.

The expanse of unknown territories of experience stretches endlessly.

We think our hearts and minds unprepared for such great depths:

purpose, language, and meaning.

Yet our Creator does not leave us ill-equipped.

There are guides all along the fragile pathway.

These mentors challenge and encourage,

always reflecting glimpses of divinity in

glimpses of hope and handfuls of grace.

*I wrote this in honor of a few special mentors in my life - and also because I'm broke and thought one of those mentors (who is also one of my bosses) would like it as a belated Christmas gift.
