to be the foundation.

Building and climbing and growing,

upon ever-deepening roots.

If only we had a focus,

and being among the earth

and planting within the soil

were the priorities of all we are.

So easy and too easy,

to consume and be consumed

by vanity and lust and greed.

We want in so many ways,

to conquer and to have.
