Exploring Minnesota: Duluth

Over the weekend, my mom and I headed to the Duluth area! It was time for an autumn adventure, and we both had the weekend off.

The forecast called for rain and wind all weekend. But we were determined to go anyway. So, we did! And sure enough, it was cold, rainy, and windy from Friday morning-Sunday morning. And by windy, I mean VERY WINDY. Gusts between 40-50 mph. One exciting aspect of the weather was the huge waves we got to see on Lake Superior!

So although the weather was quite stinky, we still loved the North Shore and hope to return soon when the weather is better. We totally made the best of our time, bundled up, and did as much as we could.

Here are a few of our highlights and recommendations from the weekend (because it was so wet and my battery was low, I didn't get my camera out very much - instead these photos are primarily from my cell phone)...

Enger Tower: The top of Enger Tower on Friday was truly the windiest experience I have ever had! Very exhilarating!

This rock had recently fallen down from the cliff. It was fun to perch upon it.

This place has extremely great pizza! I think this was my favorite meal of the trip! Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza from Do North Pizzeria.

What are your favorite places in the Duluth/Two Harbors area? I am so excited to go back!

Here are a few shots taken with my regular camera....
