Grandma's Autograph Book

Before bed the last few nights, I've been savoring the pages of my Grandma Verona's childhood autograph book.  The poems and sayings are so delightfully sweet!  Do autograph books still exist? They sure should!

Drink your tea,
Remember me.
Drink it hot,
Forget me not.

I love to imagine Grandma as a young lady,
handing her autograph book to friends so that they could
write a special message inside.

How interesting to imagine Verona and her childhood pals,
having fun in small town Iowa in 1933!

Little did they know then how much their words
would enliven the heart of a 29-year-old pastor in 2012!

The passage of time.  Mysterious.

The joy of words.  Eternal.
