Jesus prayed: ‘I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.'

-John 17:20-21

The previous verses from the Gospel of John were part of our gospel lesson at church today. It's from a really powerful portion of the Bible. Right before Jesus was arrested, he prayed for his disciples and all future followers. I find it really, really amazing - that out of all the things Jesus could have prayed for us in that moment, he prayed that we would be one. United. It was THAT important to Jesus.

May we see ourselves as connected and united as human beings throughout the week ahead.
