Reunited

Weekend Chronicles

Reunited and it feels so good......

Yes yes, I was reunited yesterday with a bunch of high school classmates for our
10-year class reunion. We golfed in the afternoon and had dinner in the evening.
Then we danced the night away.
It was fun to catch-up and share stories from the past decade.

Reunions are funny, aren't they? In some ways, it seems like everything has changed in the last 10 years. In other ways, it seems as if everything is the same. High school feels like yesterday and it feels like 1,000,000 years ago - all at the same time.

I would summarize the experience like this: It was a delightful to be able to reconnect with my classmates. We only had about 43 people in our class, and we were all together in the same building from kindergarten through 12th grade. It was very fun to see them.

Just for fun, I thought I'd share a bit about my high school self....

In high school, I....
-Loved to learn and laugh
-Played several sports (but was never a super star)
-Did not care much about fashion or high heels
-Never would've dreamed of becoming a pastor (I was going to be a news anchor)
-Liked to golf
-Liked to act and sing and be on the speech team
-Thought the Internet was the most amazing new invention ever
-Developed gigantic crushes (gigantic)
-Loved English class
-Created (with some great pals) a choreographed Britney Spears dance routine for Spanish class involving ridiculously tight black pants and a boom box (I do not recall how this project related to the Spanish language. Interestingly, based on conversations during last night's reunion - this incident is remembered vividly by many.)

:)

Here are a few photo highlights of last night .....

  1. Great dress choice for your class reunion, P.E.!!!

You look stunning! and I'm so envious of your ability to wear belts!

I am guessing that one of those boys in the last pic are one of the "gigantic" crushes. :)

Glad you had a great time!!! Hope to see you soon.
