People are Interesting: Jason

Today's "Interesting Person" is my pal, Jason! He's in his final year of seminary in Chicago. Jason is creative, clever, musical, and terrific. Enjoy the interview!

1. Where do you feel most comfortable? On a porch in the late, rainy afternoon, swinging in a hammock with cold sweet tea (can you tell I'm from Texas?).

2. Describe your average day in one word. Fast.

3. Who are the people who most inspire you? Martin Luther King, Jr., Oscar Romero, Barbara Brown Taylor

4. What do you love about your work? I love that I get to talk to people and form relationships, both that I can offer my gifts and receive others' at the same time.

5. What is your most beloved hobby? I am LOVING teaching myself to play the guitar. It's pretty fantastic. It relaxes me. And it makes me feel like a secret rockstar. :)

6. What are you reading? "All the Pretty Horses," by Cormac McCarthy. Of course, I am also "reading" all the stuff for school, but that word is open to interpretation.

7. What's the best advice you've received? "It's not about you." Seriously. <Excuse the Emily interruption, but isn't this fabulous?  So true.  Such a good piece of advice!>

8. What movie or television show do you think everyone should be required to watch? Glee. I don't know how you can finish watching that show and not be in a good mood (or, at least a better mood).
