"Teach me your way, O Lord,
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.
For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me from the depths of the grave."
-Psalm 86: 11-13
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.
For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me from the depths of the grave."
-Psalm 86: 11-13
These words from the Psalmist make for a wonderful prayer, don't they? The line that most speaks to me this morning is: "give me an undivided heart." Our hearts are so easily divided sometimes, aren't they? Between various prioirities and commitments, between perspectives and beliefs.
Throughout the day ahead, when you're feeling conflicted or drawn in all sorts of directions, remember this prayer. "Give me an undivided heart" - and remember that God's love for you is great, in fact, even gigantic. Really, really gigantic.
Ah! That's such a cute nativity set!
