Random Sunday Updates

Hello all! Happy Mother's Day! Give your momma's some extra love today.

A few random things to share this morning:

1) There was a terrible storm in southern IL on Friday that has been very devastating for the area. This is the part of the state where I was last year for internship with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. I've been in contact with a handful of people there; it sounds like a total disaster area and most remain without power. Several of the counties have been declared disaster areas. Please continue to pray for the people of Carbondale, Carterville, Marion, and the whole southern IL area (as well as parts of Kansas, Kentucky, and Missouri).

2) Sometime this weekend, be sure to listen to this week's episode of Speaking of Faith. It's actually a repeat, but it's incredible; the title of the episode is "The Spirituality of Parenting". The guest is a female Rabbi (Sandy Sasso) from Indianapolis with all sorts of insights on children and spirituality. I found it to be a particularly inspiring and encouraging. It's especially directed toward parents who haven't had great experiences in their own faith traditions, but who feel a desire to raise their kids with a spiritual awareness. Here's a link to the site with ALL sorts of resources: http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.org/programs/2009/spiritualityofparenting/

Hugs and love to everyone. Have a wonderful Sunday!

  1. Thanks for the info about Rabbi Sasso. She is super fab. We have some children's books she wrote. I highly recommend her selection for kids all ages.
